4th Grade Math

My name is Yvonne Charles, I am a mother to two wonderful children.  My son, the eldest, is a Computer Science Major at Angelo State University and my daughter is a Biology Pre-Med student at Texas Tech. I will be teaching 4th Grade Math this year. Many of you may recognize me as I have been a full time sub here at Winters ISD for past 3 yrs.
I am a 1982 Bronte High School Graduate and a 1987 Angelo State Graduate. Received a BBA degree and was in the corporate world for 20+ years in and around the Houston area. After graduating from college I worked as a Manager for Wal-Mart, then as a Cash Office Manager for a SHSU, next I worked for JBSI, a computer company in Stafford Tx, where I worked as a Tech Support Administrator then I was promoted to the Tech Support Purchasing Department. After working many years with JBSI, I went to work for Neighborhood Centers Inc. (NCI) as Procurement Coordinator. After working a long while in the corporate world I felt a need to change, to do something more than add to the corporate bottom line. I wanted to make a difference in this world. At NCI, they had a Charter School, which I had a chance to visit, while I was working there. The kids there just made me smile, it was such a wonderful experience. At that moment I knew what I had to do. I enrolled in an ATC program and earned a Teacher Certification. I taught 4th grade at the Ripley House Charter School for several years before moving back home. Teaching may be my second career BUT it is the Best job I have ever had!

I am so looking forward to this New School Year! Hope everyone has a great Year!
